Muscular Development Magazine Review
There are different ways to lift weights. You can lift for size,
strength, or power. Plenty of magazines focus on either size
or strength, but I've only found one that concentrates mainly
on building power. I recommend Muscular Development for all
competitive athlete for the following reasons:
1) Need Power?: Muscular Development concentrates on helping
athletes develop and maximize power. Each issue explains the
benefits of power to the athlete and then shows how to gain it.
2) Informative Columns: A favorite column of mine is "Plyometrics."
Plyometrics are a form of exercise that strives to increase power
through explosive movements. They are the ideal exercise, say,
for a basketball players attempting to increase his/her vertical
jump. This type of column is indicative of the stress that
Muscular Development places on helping athletes increase
their athletic performance.
3) Little Hype: There is not much in MD magazine that
is not reasoned. A recent article explains the difference
between ab exercises that make you look good versus ab
exercises that enhance your athletic performance. For a
competitive athlete, this is invaluable information.
4) I like the pic's MD provides they illustrate the
movements required to do the exercise properly and
identify the equipment to use to complete the exercise.
For those of you that like to see bikini girls, women
cover models and the photos of fitness models,
there is alot of that too.
5) Little Cost: A full year's subscription only costs $19.99.
Not bad for twelve informative issues.
I highly recommend Muscular Development for athletes or for
those health conscious individuals who want to perform better
when participating in sports.
