Living a Fit and Healthy Lifestyle

There are many things in todays world to make us sick, fortunately we have the knowledge to prevent or treat alot of them. The best thing we can do is not get sick in the first place, take a proactive approach towards good health by taking care of your body.

Start with disease prevention, see the doctor regularly and take all recommended tests.

Do simple things like washing your hands often and carry a hand sanitizer, clean and cook your food thoroughly. If you eat out go to quality places that takes caution in preparing thier food, eat plenty of fresh and healthy foods. A good diet can prevent many diseases.

Develop an exercise program to build a strong heart and body, this is one of the best things you can do towards maintaining good health. First you see the doctor and get cleared to exercise, If you are new to fitness and can afford a trainer I would recommend you get one to get you started. A trainer can get you headed in the right direction, teach you the different exercises and how to perform them without getting yourself hurt. The money spent on him is well worth it, Now if you have some experience or can not afford a trainer do some research online or at the library. The goal is to learn what you need to know about working out without getting hurt, also there are different types of training and which one you use depends on your needs or goals.

Stretching is necessary in fitness and very beneficial for your body, becoming more flexible and increasing your range of motion reduces your chances of getting hurt. It elongates and tones the muscles, It also helps to reduce soreness after working out and speeds the recovery process.

Cardio is a form of exercise that has numerous benefits towards good health, it strengthens your hurt so that it doesn't have to work hard to pump blood. It increases your lung capacity and reduces your level of stress, it reduces your risk of numerous diseases like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart attack, and diabetes. It is an excellent way to burn calories and promote weight loss while improving your mood and enablling you to sleep better. There are many different ways to do a cardio work out and doing something you like will keep you interested and motivated, the necessary requirement is to get your heart rate into it's target zone for a period of time.

Weight Training also improves your health by making your body stronger, leaner, and more effecient at routine tasks. It has the same benefits that cardio does but to a smaller degree, it also makes your bones stronger.

Diet is the one thing you can do to see the most change from, it is a fact that in weight loss it is 80% diet and 20% exercise. This is another area where a trainer will be a help in the beginning, it is nothing to worry about if you do not have one because everything you need to know can be learned online or at the library. When and how you eat is just as important as what you eat, a good diet is a way of life and should never be temporary or a crash diet. Good nutrition improves your immune system, it regulates your metabolism, it keeps your organs functioning properly, it improves mood and sleep patterns, and the list of benefits goes on.

Bad Habits, cutting out bad habits like smoking and drinking will improve your health and help you to live longer. Getting 6 - 8 hours of sleep everynite is also necessary to improve your health, not to mention your muscles grow and repair themselves while you are sleeping so starting a fitness program will require regular sleep patterns.

Putting all these together will greatly improve your health and you will be amazed at how the quality of your life improves, it will also add years to your life and reduces your medical expenses..
