Does Ecdysterone Really Work?


Over the years, the world of supplementation has advanced by leaps and bounds. Although there are supplements that help you increase your protein supplements and boost your testosterone, most of those are not natural and have damaging side effects that you will regret later on in life.

One study that was done by University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX had two different groups: a placebo group and the other took ecdysterone. Both groups had the same diet while training on the same workout routine.

The results showed that the group who took 500 mg of ecdysterone per day for eight weeks had a much better body composition and strength gains than the placebo group. This result alone shows that this substance really works, give the clear difference between the ecdy group and the control group.

Study Finds Increased Muscle Mass and Simultaneous Fat Loss


Another study that was conducted by S. Simakin in 1988 was done to determine the effects of ecdysterone on muscle and fat mass. There were three control groups for this study that included a placebo, protein, and ecdysterone with protein. You can probably guess by their name which group did what.

Study Finds Increased Nutrient Partitioning


One other study was done in 1986 by B. Ya Smetanin. In this research, there were a little over 100 highly trained speed skaters between the ages of 18 and 28. They were all tested for body weight, lung capacity, work capacity, and VO2 max. One group took a beta ecdysterone bodybuilding supplement and the control group did not. All participants went through practice sessions for their sport.

The results showed that the ecdy group received more oxygen to their cells; this led to increased stamina, endurance, and energy throughout the day. The placebo group in this study did not receive these benefits.

Study Finds Increased Overall Performance


There was another study using 112 athletes that was performed by B.G. Fadeev. This was a very similar study conducted compared to the one we discussed above. There were two control groups: ones who took ecdysterone and a placebo group.

Like the one above, 89% of those who used ecdysterone reported less fatigue, more motivation, faster speed, and improved strength. The placebo group did not receive these benefits showing that this was no fluke.
